The Team

Verlingue have established broking team in Manchester, we are currently replicating this in Surrey working with 2 experienced Brokers. The role will be based in one of our Surrey offices and the team will increase by a further Broker early 2022. The Surrey team forms part of the overall UK Broking team of 5 in addition to close connections with our established London Market Brokers.

The Role

Verlingue is fast-paced with strong growth plans.  You will work closely with the business delivering an excellent service to our Clients, Colleagues and Carriers ensuring that the needs of the role and responsibilities are met.

Role objectives include:

General Responsibilities

  • Programme design
  • Meeting the broking requirements of our Clients
  • Continuous development of market / product knowledge and intelligence
  • Sharing knowledge of changes in products and insurers appetite within the Group
  • Productive relationship management of Carriers
  • Promote Placement Strategy with approved Carriers
  • Insurer response and analysis management
  • Raise profile of Verlingue within the market

New Business

  • Production of Broking presentation (unless we are pre-appointed)
  • Liaising with CD & CA on broking strategy to be employed, ensuring clients’ needs are met
  • Marketing of client risks in a way that meets client requirements and analysing results with CD
  • Placement of cover
  • Provision of correct Contract Certain terms and policy wording to CA

Renewal Business

  • Enhancing production of draft Broking presentation
  • Liaising with CD on broking strategy to be employed
  • Marketing of client risks to alternative Carriers in a way that meets client requirements, working closely with CA who will manage the existing Carrier.
  • Analysing results with CD / CA
  • Placement of cover
  • Provision of correct Contract Certain terms and policy wording to CA

Compliance/IT

  • Comply with the company’s process, procedures and broking strategy
  • Ensure all activities comply with FCA regulatory and market standards
  • Ensure that you are working in an orderly fashion.
  • Ensure that you update I T systems promptly to facilitate good working practices throughout the company.

Contribute to the good relationships between the different departments within the company

 

  • Build good relationships with all colleagues.
  • Working with CA and CA to provide responsive solution for their broking needs which in turn delivers to the client.
  • Participate positively in internal working groups and internal pre internal strategy meetings.
  • Work with other areas of the business to ensure productivity.
  • Provided good day to day support and guidance for less experienced colleagues and encourage development by sharing knowledge.
  • Key CD = Client Director and CA = Client Advisor

Person Specification

Details the minimum requirement for skills, knowledge and experience on commencement of this role. It is expected that the person will meet a competent level within 6 months of joining the company.

  • Minimum of 5 years in the insurance industry
  • Excellent working knowledge of the insurance market
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills that fit the audience
  • Excellent Carrier relationships
  • Technically strong with excellent attention to detail
  • Minimum Dip CII preferable
  • Working knowledge of the Acturis system would be preferable
  • A Can-do attitude with the ability to respond to challenge and problem solving
  • Ability to work to under pressure with deadlines and multitask in order to get required work carried out
  • A team player
