Neal Lumb, Verlingue UK's Group Sales and Marketing Director, recently led a roundtable at Insurance Times’ Destination Insurance event, exploring how the industry can better position insurance as a compelling career for the next generation. In a competitive talent market, the discussion centred on how we articulate the breadth of opportunity our profession offers and how we challenge outdated perceptions that may prevent emerging talent from considering insurance as a first choice.

Drawing on his extensive experience, Neal shared insight into what resonates most with new joiners: clear career pathways, meaningful development and visible leadership. He highlighted the success of apprenticeships, sharing examples of individuals who have built rewarding careers through structured learning and strong mentorship.
