In a rapidily-evolving landscape of benefits tech, how easy is it to make the right choices?

The UK benefits technology market is changing rapidly. The emergence of artificial intelligence, recent mergers and acquisitions within the industry and the ever-evolving needs of businesses mean that choosing a technology partner is more challenging than ever.
So how do you navigate through this moving landscape, and what factors should you consider when choosing a solution that’s right for your business and your people?  

 

Five factors to consider 

 

1. Reporting and management information

What type of MI and reporting needs does your business have? Do you have unique requirements and the capability to build bespoke reports? Will you rely on reporting to demonstrate value on investments made into the 

 

2. Design and user experience (UX)

Do you want to use a structured template solution, or would you prefer a bespoke built to specification model? Do you want to follow your internal brand guidelines? Do you want to mirror the look and feel of your existing internal communications or intranet?

 

3. Data security

A key component to choosing the right technology partner.  Ensure the data handling and security protocols offered meet the requirements of your business. You may need to consult with 

 

4. Integration capability

Do you want your benefits technology to integrate with your HRIS, payroll and other internal systems? Or would you prefer to manage the reporting report sharing across the relevant parties?

 

5. Standalone solution or consulting led? 

Think about whether a standalone provider is right for you – or whether a partner led solution is a better option. If you choose a standalone, thing about how the reporting lines will work between your advisor and technology provider. Will you manage the stakeholders internally, or does a solution provided by your employee benefits advisers offer a more simplified approach.
